The media and publishing industries know all about delivering to deadlines – they do it every day. So when it comes selecting a consulting and technology partner, they look for the ability to deliver not only on time, but to specification and within budget.
That's why LB Icon is the strategic partner of choice for a wide range of media and publishing companies. In many cases, these organisations are extending their activities to the Web, providing access to information, publications and other content online. We've helped them define their strategies, develop and design attractive and compelling Web sites that are easy to use and navigate, and migrate a wide range of disparate content to underpin their online initiatives.
For example, at Oxford University Press, we worked on web site design and development and were called in for a capacity planning project to ensure that the OUP Web site – currently attracting around one million hits per month - could cope with increasing demand, especially around the time of new book launches. We were able to model and predict traffic flows based on typical user activities.
At the Royal Society of Chemistry, we are enabling the implementation of a new enterprise content management solution and a completely new information architecture for its web site. We also helped the RSC to scope and implement a pilot project for its new web presence based on content from one of its publications, RSC News. Content from other publications will follow as the RSC migrate content to the new Web environment.
Scaleable
Whatever the size and scope of the project, we can scale our services accordingly to meet organisational, operational and budgetary demands. And because we believe in establishing partnerships with our clients, you will find us to be creative, proactive and easy to work with.
“We chose LB Icon as an implementation partner because of its experience in content management solutions, to provide technical implementation and a new information architecture.”

“LB Icon helped us by installing and configuring servers that can actually simulate 'real-life' visitor traffic according to given types of transactions on the site - and then ramp them up.”
